Our first issue features some of TALC’s heroes including conversations with Barbara Nitke, the photographer who documented porn sets in the 80’s, and Leonard Koren, the founder of the niche, but incredibly influential ‘WET – magazine for gourmet bathing’ that came out of LA in the 70’s.
We feature furniture by some of our design heroes from the Postmodern era including Sottsass and Mendini. We have some mind-blowingly sexy illustrations from renowned art director and illustrator Mat Maitland who’s worked with musicians such as Goldfrapp, Basement Jaxx, Beck and Elton John, to name a few. We explore five decades of Rolex, the mystique of car parks and an essay discussing the re-use and re-definition of the word porn in the context of visual culture, not to mention three short films made exclusively for TALC. We’ve also commissioned an exclusive sexy track fit for TALC by London producer Joe Ashworth.
